Many lawyers offer pro bono services for the public good. Contact your local bar association. For example, the American Bar Association (americanbar.org) has a directory of pro bono programs in the US. In Canada, the Canadian Bar Association (cba.org) can help. Some law schools run clinics, too, like Harvard Law School's Legal Aid Bureau. Search "pro bono lawyers near me" online, or ask at your local courthouse. You'll usually need to fill out an application showing your financial need and details of your case.
