What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

We are a family-owned business that prides itself in providing outstanding service to our community at a reasonable price. When you want to be part of the community long term, you are not willing to risk your reputation for a few extra bucks.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We use technology to our advantage. We have a highly technical job to support our community. We have the most robust customer relationship management system to help give the customer a one-of-a-kind experience.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

We have two master electricians on our team as well as several apprentices. Our master electricians are subject to an ongoing training certification that is one of the most rigorous in the nation. In addition, we require our entire team to participate in training sessions every Thursday morning. Finally, we offer an optional Thursday evening training session which several of our team members invest in routinely.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I wanted to find a way to support my community with service and my team with regular work to provide for their families. It grew from there. Our family-owned business has become a staple of the Watertown area and has grown into one of the most reputable companies, tied to the community in every way.

What types of customers have you worked with?

We love customers from the new family homeowners to the investment companies that own hundreds of properties around the Boston area. We have a team that can accomplish smaller tasks in a bathroom to installing a security system for a multiple story building.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

We are currently working with an Armenian Catholic Church in the Watertown area. This is a return customer of ours where we help each other outside of our customer/provider relationship. It is always rewarding to develop relationships with the community beyond just providing solutions for electrical, fire, and security.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Use the company that has been and will be around for years. Also, find one with several Master Electricians. Finally, don't trust pricing over the phone. It is very difficult to fully understand the property owner's situation and understand the complexities. Likewise, do not let anyone start a project for you until you have a printed and agreed to estimate. Markarian Electric exceeds all of these for our community.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Bring in a professional. Give them illustrations, pictures, and drawings so that the professional can understand the vision. Sit down at the table and talk about the solution, process, and pricing with the professional. At Markarian Electric, we will take the time to fully understand your needs before providing possible solutions.
