I’m a Marine Corps veteran with over 10 years of experience repairing and replacing garage doors. I’ve recently decided to start my own garage door business, Veteran Overhead Garage Doors! Throughout my years in the Marines and working with other garage door companies, I’ve learned to serve my customers by having integrity in everything that I do and also educating them on how parts work and how they wear out. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Usually we set up a time for me to come out to look at the garage door(s).

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have over 10 years of experience in installation and repairs of garage doors and garage door openers.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started working for my neighbors garage door company when I got out of the Marine Corps. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do when I got home, so very thankful I found this business!

What types of customers have you worked with?

All types, I’ve worked in the garage door industry for long enough to see almost everything. If you have any issues don’t hesitate to ask.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would first say go with your gut! If it sounds too good to be true it mostly likely is. You want to hire a professional that you can trust to do the job right the first time.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Do you want to replace or repair your garage? How old is my garage and motor? Do I do any preventative maintenance? Whats my budget, cost vs longevity? When is the last service date of my garage?
