What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

$150 plus parts first hour, clock starts at arrival, $20 every 15 minutes after the first hour. No hidden charges. Most repairs are done in the first hour. We strive to be efficient and cost effective under what most competitor pricing is in most cases.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to make them feel comfortable and respected. They are my boss as I work for my customer, they sign my payment. And I want to develop friendships with my customers, and gain regular clients

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Formerly fire door certification on roll up and slider doors in industrial settings. Former lead technician at several large commercial outfits. Wide range of experience in both commercial and residential work. And familiar with most of the current and former garage door systems and components out there

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I was a journeyman flexography printer by my original trade. I wanted to work with my hands in a trade that wasn’t common. I found a want add to train a garage door technician for Genie of Fairview in 2000. I loved the trade, and here I am!

What types of customers have you worked with?

Mostly good people, younger to older, no real stereotypes

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I removed a 16 foot roll up door and converted it to a sectional garage door and added a new garage door opener.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Be careful if the company you contact says words like prices start at? Or from this range to this. The company you call should have set prices to cover most of your needs, and should be willing to give quotes, or be up front on prices to perform a service call to your home. Transparency is what I’m saying..

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

What all is included in my service call? Do you inspect everything? Are my garage door opener safeties up to date? Are my cables, bearings and rollers in good shape?
