Introduction

Formerly AAuto Lock Service, my new business is still in development. I have been helping friends and family with auto lockouts and residential hardware for over 15 years, and just recently begun working as a locksmith professionally. I began learning this trade while doing volunteer work in the Dominican Republic. I install and re-key residential hardware and can cut and program proximity and traditional keys for nearly any vehicle. I'm an honest, local locksmith, serving Southern Tucson and Sahuarita at affordable rates.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I strive to offer competitive pricing, but more importantly, I'm honest, skilled, and flexible.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Starting with carefully listening to find out what precisely each potential client wants, I aim to find the best route to accomplish their goal. If I can't do the job I'm honest about that, too.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have been helping friends and family get back into their cars for over 15 years. I became a locksmith of limited skill set, while doing volunteer work in the Dominican Republic, simply out of need. My now deceased Mother was the first to start rekeying locks. As a tinkerer since toddlerhood; I felt motivated to continue her legacy.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
As a jack of many trades, I have been locksmithing for friends and family for over 15 years, but have just recently begun doing so professionally. An awesome friend supplied me with some professional tools, and started sending jobs my way. I really enjoy the trade, and thanks to Rocky at Benedict Lock Service, I'm now getting my own business started.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Just recently, I was able to generate and program a proximity key for a Toyota Corolla without the original key, which requires removing the glove box and connecting various leads to the IMMO computer. I'm currently working on the key for a BMW with no original. This requires opening the vehicle's computer and connecting directly to the chip containing IMMO data. Successfully making these keys is a challenging, yet rewarding task.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure that the professional you're about to hire is willing to really think, assessing your needs from unique angles.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Many lock and key jobs require patience and a personal touch. Does the task you need done require a professional who can think outside the box?
