What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

A Realtors fees are generally negotiable. Realtors get paid a commission. The commission for the Buyers agent and the Sellers agent usually comes from the Sellers side of the transaction.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

When working with a new client, the first steps are to ask a lot of questions! We will discuss your wants and needs, budget and timeframe. It is also at this point that I would suggest, if you haven't been prequalified, to speak to a lender.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Realtors are required to have ongoing education. Every year we have education requirements. I have recently received the At Home With Diversity certification.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I had worked a number of years in retail management. I had small children at the time and wanted a career that would have a more flexible schedule. I worked in real estate for a number of years, then went back to retail for personal reasons. After a while, i wanted to come back so I took my exam again and got started once again.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I work with all types of people. I really enjoy working with first time buyers and sellers.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I am currently working with a buyer, with whom I have grown very fond of. We found the "perfect" house for her. As it turns out, it was not the perfect house as it would not pass appraisal inspection. We are currently looking at other options.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ideally you should work with someone who you are comfortable with. You will be spending a lot of time with this person, whether in person or on the phone. You should fond someone with the same work ethic and goals as you.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

I think that you should ask any and all questions. The last thing you want is a misunderstanding from lack of communication. If you have any concerns, you should raise them.
