Introduction

I have a family with 4 kids (3 sons) and started my business as a way to inspire them to see what hard work can achieve. Having owned and worked on residential homes for 14 years and no project is too small. If you need work done on/in your home or property you need to feel safe, comfortable and trust that the job will be done right. While my skills extend beyond the scope of my license, I do have quality licensed professionals in those areas that I contract with. It is important that corners not be cut when it comes to electrical and plumbing! When you hire me you get assurance that the job will be taken care of start to finish and will done done correctly. In 2023 I became a licensed Realtor so that I could take my philosophy of helping other to the area of real estate. With my background of working on home I am able to provide a unique perspective when it comes to home buying and selling. I also consult with people about their energy needs as it relates to solar or demand management devices.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I do my best to provide fair pricing which takes into account my skillset, knowledge, tools, overhead and travel.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Each customer is a new relationship and that operates both ways. I want my customers to trust me and feel confident that I will be their guy and have no concern referring me to their friends or family.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am self taught however that has included relying on professionals myself over the years. If I don't know how to do something I immerse myself to find out how to do it. As a homeowner I have done extensive remodels including rewiring houses including main panel replacement/relocation (all inspected and permitted). If I am not confident in my abilities for a job I will help find someone else who can.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I grew up out in the woods of Washington State and have always been a tinkerer. I worked for 15 years at a non profit foster care agency. I spent my free time doing side projects and building my skills as I found it therapeutic. My wife convinced me that I could do this full time and here we are. It's a passion, not a job!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I recently repaired a washer which had a bad fill level sensor. It was an intermittent issue and extremely difficult to diagnose. It took multiple trips over multiple days/weeks but I eventually figured it out. I never charged more than my base fee because I stand by my work. That was the only appliance repair that took so long...its usually easier to diagnose!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

It really depends on the scope of work. Some jobs are so small and simple that most of the cost is in travel and lost opportunity for the contractor which means they have a job minimum in most instances. If they are going to come patch your wall and fill that time slot on their calendar they need to make a certain amount otherwise they could book a better paying job somewhere else. Going cheap can be a way to save money but it really comes down to personal risk tolerance. Staying away from the most expensive and least expensive usually provides the best value to customers. Least expensive can mean poor workmanship while most expensive can mean overpaying.
