Introduction

I am a Realtor® (MN License #40536849) with a background in law, marketing, and counseling, and I feel fortunate to combine these skills with my passion for helping people buy and sell homes! I and am an agent with Greater Midwest Realty in the Twin Cities metro area, and specialize in working with buyers and sellers in Minneapolis and the western suburbs. I enjoy being an educator, advocate, counselor, and resource for my clients, and my goal is to create a long-lasting partnership that goes beyond a single buy/sell transaction. I pride myself on being responsive, honest, collaborative, and a supportive anchor for my clients during an important life and financial decision. My legal background allows me to help clients understand contract language, the process of a transaction, the potential issues that may arise, and to focus on the mechanics of the transaction. My counseling background allows me to work with clients on the sometimes difficult emotional decisions that come when making a transition. Outside of real estate, I am active in and passionate about dog rescue, and I donate a percentage of my profits each year to animal rescue organizations. I am a volunteer with Minneapolis Animal Care & Control (MACC) and A Rotta Love Plus, a local foster-based rescue. My husband and I are parents to 3 fur children: Brody, Maggie, and Minnie Mouse.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I work with both buyers and sellers and am paid a commission. Sellers pay a commission, a percentage of which goes to the Buyer's agent. I am transparent about my fees and how I get paid, and discuss fees with clients at our first meeting.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I can't stress enough how important it is to find an agent who you feel comfortable with. Buying and/or selling a home takes time and energy, and partnering with an agent who you have a connection with is essential. We will be spending a lot of time together, and given its many moving parts, the home-buying and/or selling experience is not always smooth sailing. As part of my process I have an initial client consultation meeting, which is essentially a get-to-know you meeting to determine whether or not we are a fit. During this meeting, I will explain the process and the paperwork involved and answer any questions you have, but I will not pressure you to sign anything at this meeting. I understand that you may be interviewing more than one agent, and want to be sure it is a match for everyone involved. My goal is to earn your trust and confidence, with the goal of building a long-term relationship, not simply a transaction-based one.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am a Minnesota-licensed Realtor, and also hold a law degree, an MBA, and a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. My legal, marketing, and counseling backgrounds and experience all lend themselves well to my role as a Realtor. I can help explain contract language and the buying/selling process, manage emotions around the process, and, for sellers, utilize my marketing background in marketing your listing. Additionally, I have the support and resources of other agents, a coach, and administrators at my agency, Greater Midwest Realty.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I have had a passion for real estate for as long as I can remember. My mother remembers me wanting to be a Realtor as far back as when I was living in Boston and going to law school (20 years ago!). I've had a varied career path, but have consistently maintained an interest in home design and helping people. Earlier in 2017, I realized that I no longer wanted to put off what I had long wanted to pursue. The stars aligned and the timing was right, and I am so excited to finally be combining my legal, marketing, and counseling backgrounds to my passion for real estate and helping people. I am a newer agent, but have years of business and counseling experience behind me, and my passion drives me to work as hard as possible for my clients!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Both buyers and sellers!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
There are a LOT of Realtors in the Twin Cities area, and a lot of good ones. If you don't have a referral from a friend or family member, how do you choose who to use? I bring a wealth of previous experience to my business, along with the backing and resources of Greater Midwest Realty. I believe the quality of the relationship between Realtor and client is of utmost importance, and I can't stress enough how important it is to find an agent who you feel comfortable with. Buying and/or selling a home takes time and energy, and partnering with an agent who you have a connection with is essential. We will be spending a lot of time together, and my goal is to earn your trust and confidence, with the goal of building a long-term relationship, not simply a transaction-based one.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What qualities are important to you in a Realtor? How will you know that a Realtor is right for you? If selling, what is most important to you (highest price, fast sale, quick close, etc.)? If buying, what are the top 5 considerations in a new home? And many others, which we will discuss at our first meeting!
