What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Get to the heart of the issue as soon as possible and start working on resolutions. I custom design all sessions to my client's specific needs.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a Master's Degree in Counseling, a School Guidance Counselor Certification, and I have completed a PhD in Psychology. I teach college-level Public Speaking, Written & Oral Communication, and College Success courses. I've written a book on confidence with tips, techniques, and strategies that provide instant confidence in any situation and long-lasting confidence for life-long success. I am an experienced coach, workshop leader, and public speaker. I am a therapist, counselor, dating coach, life coach, public-speaking instructor, personal/professional development coach, a communication coach, and a relationship specialist. My education, training, and experience has allowed me to help others improve communication and resolve conflict in their most valuable relationships.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I went from a College Instructor to a College Counselor to a Private Coach so I could focus on sharing communication & conflict resolution strategies outside of the classroom and inside our most valuable relationships. As a college counselor I became aware that many young students were not ready to start college, so I wrote and implemented a College Success course. The course focused on social skills, communication skills, team-building, time-management, study skills, personal and professional development skills, and more. These are teachable skills but only found on some college campuses. I decided that many others would like to be taught these skills as well, so I began offering workshops and coaching services to the public.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Every type of relationship: couples, families, parents & children, business partners, roommates, singles, co-workers/supervisors, engaged/pre-marriage, cohabiting, and more. Clients interested in Relationship & marriage counseling, Personal Development & Dating coaching, confidence and esteem-building, Couples & premarital classes. Professional Development & Public Speaking clients looking to improve workplace skills, individual clients polishing skills and skill development in all areas of life.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I was a workshop leader at the Fresh Start Women's Center for many years. My classes were filled with women wanting to improve their self-confidence and their relationships. After each workshop the women would rush up to me and ask for handouts on everything I taught. I didn't have handouts. I decided the easiest thing to do was to put the lessons in a little handbook, so I wrote The Incredibly Confident Woman, which I later revised into The Incredibly Confident YOU! because men would ask me for confidence tips and a book for them, too. It took a little over a year to put together and organize all my notes and lessons into sections, type it up, and figure out how to design the cover, use the software & online publishing tools, and finally have a tangible result. You can find my book at a website called ******** entering Pamela White in the search box. It's a quick read and a great little self-help guide with straight-forward strategies and basic instructions to improve confidence in all situations.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
1. Hire someone you feel comfortable with. 2. Think twice about using your employer's insurance for counseling; it stays on your permanent employee record as mental health counseling and could present future problems in some cases.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What are my goals? What do I want to happen in the counseling process?
