Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I accept Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare and Optum in addition to clients opting to pay out of pocket.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
New clients have a lot they want to share in the beginning. My primary role is to listen and connect the dots. I support my clients in seeing what they may have known all along. Next, I assess using an interview and standardized scales. Clients typically need some confirmation that they are have made the right decision. Nothing does that better than the results of an assessment resulting from the client's own report.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for depression, bi-polar, trauma, and anxiety. I am also a Certified Parent Coach specializing in helping parents structure thriving environments for their children, especially those diagnosed with ADHD.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
My inspiration for becoming a therapist was my second-grade teacher. She showed me how one person can make a difference in the life of someone else. That is my mission, to be a light, and to make a difference.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with children and adolescents ages 3 - 18 and adults 19 - 45 years old. I am proficient with individuals, parents, couples, and groups.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
A recent success story involves a client suffering from generalized anxiety. The client gained self-regulation skills, coping skills, and little bit by little bit, through gradual exposure, visualization, positive self-talk, and recognizing faulty thinking; the client learned to engage with crowds without having panic attacks.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I always advise clients to interview their potential provider to make sure they can work well together. Establishing a comfortable, trusting, and professional relationship with your therapist is one of the key ingredients to reaching your goals.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
People seeking therapy should think about their ability to commit to the process. That means weekly or bi-weekly attendance without distractions. Therapy is not a quick fix. It is hard work. If you are a parent seeking behavioral support for your child your regular participation in the process is an essential ingredient for success.
